Steps to Admissions

  • Step 1 | Tour & Foundations First Session

    All families who apply are required to attend a tour and a Foundations First Session. You may attend anytime during the application process. Assessments and Interviews will not be scheduled until both are attended.

    A tour is a chance for you to visit our campuses and see the community in action.

    The Foundations First Session is a deeper dive into what our partnership with families looks like.

  • Step 2 | Apply

    ‍JK-9th Grade: Applications will open on November 1, 2026. The first round application deadline is December 15, 2026.

    Rising 10th & 11th Grade: Because of the unique structure of our program, students who did not attend 9th grade at COA may not be eligible to join in 10th or 11th grade. Please email your student’s transcript to [email protected] for review before applying.

    We do not accept new students in the 12th grade.

    The application fee is $250 per family.

    All families who apply enter the admissions pool, which includes the application + reference review.

    Following this initial review, families will either remain in the admissions pool or be invited to a family interview and student assessment. Acceptance decisions will follow.

    K cutoff: 5 years old by August 31, 2027.

    JK cutoff: 4 years old by March 31, 2027.

  • Step 3 | Enroll

    If your application is accepted, our Admissions Team will guide you through the enrollment process and help prepare you and your children for a successful start at COA!

    Before the first day of school, all new families participate in mandatory Parent Training to learn more about the COA experience, understand our collaborative model, and make sure everyone is prepared for the year ahead.

A Note about Admittance to Cathedral Oak Academy

Space is only one factor in determining if a family or student is a good fit for COA.  When reviewing applications that are submitted, please be patient, as the process is one which we undertake with the utmost care and deliberation. Ultimately, it is beholden on us to build and protect a unique community of thriving students, and we must therefore exercise our discretion in denying or accepting an applicant. We do not take our educational partnerships with families lightly, and our experience has taught us that COA is not a good fit for every family, and admitting such students is counterproductive for all parties involved.
